Method Overview
- Measuring total vapor phase mercury (Hg)
- Using sorbent trap sampling and extractive or thermal analytical technique
- Use under relatively low particulate conditions

- Elemental Hg(Hg0)
- Oxidized Hg(Hg+2) - HgCl2
Performance Tips
- Known volumes of flue gas are extracted from a stack or duct through paired, in stack sorbent media traps at an appropriate flow rate
- Sorbant trap collection mitigates potential loss of mercury during transport through a probe/sample line.
- Paired train sampling is required to determine measurement precision and verify acceptability.
